First Things First

I really don't know why I am making one of these. Well, that's not necessarily true. I am making one of these because I have so many crazy and diverse interests and ideas and don't know what else to do with them besides put them somewhere I can go back and revisit them, and I figured the internet was just as good a place as any. I guess the title of my blog deserves an explanation. Firstly, the phrase has some special significant religious meaning for me (for further explanations, visit lds.org and search the phrase in the search engine). Secondly, while many of my friends would say I can be a pessimist on occasion, I prefer to think of myself as a realist (though I might be less than honest to say than I don't see the glass as half empty at least part of the time). Due to that fact, most of this is just going to be my ideas on things as I see them - from politics and world events to books to movies to sports and everything in between...like I said, I have diverse interests. Now, I am not saying that my ideas are always right (though obviously I wouldn't be putting them up here if I didn't think so), but I am not a big fan of beating around the bush or sugar coating things, so I will just be saying it like I see it. And if you don't like it....well, then I guess that is your problem.
